CCA and Patcraft Furnish Carpet for Patent & Trademark Office Project!
June 22, 2004 - Alexandria, VA

Commercial Carpets of America ("CCA") has teamed up with Patcraft Commercial Carpet to furnish and install carpet for the new United States Patent & Trademark Office ("USPTO") project being done in Alexandria, Virginia. These projects, totaling over Click for larger image 100,000 square yards of carpet, feature Patcraft carpet with the Everbond Laminate backing containing BioBalance polymers that incorporate soybean oil. This revolutionary polyurethane polymer system from Dow Chemical incorporates soybean oil, a 100% renewable resource, as a replacement in a portion of the chemistry used in making polyurethane backings.

According to Michael Gargan, Senior Project Manager for CCA, "The size and scope of this project is enormous, especially when coupled with the logistical challenge of performing installation in multiple buildings concurrently, using a variety of interior finishes. It is only through CCA's team approach to project management and service delivery that we are able to handle a project of this type."

This new complex will contain six buildings, 3,500 parking spaces, and will provide some 2.4 million square feet of Class-A office space to more than 7,100 USPTO employees when finished. The projected completion date for this two-year project is 2005 and comprises the largest lease ever signed by the General Services Administration.
